Fishing Club Rules

  1. All anglers must possess a valid membership ticket before starting to fish and have it available for presentation to the bailiff upon request.
  2. All anglers over 12 require a rod licence.
  3. Anglers are responsible for cleaning their pegs of all litter throughout their visit to the club waters.
  4. Barbless hooks only.  Where necessary barbs maybe flattened when spinning or fishing for Pike.
  5. No fires, including barbecues; stoves are allowed.
  6. Only two rods to be used on all water except where rules 7 and/or 8 apply.
  7. Syndicate members can use 3 rods on Feeder Pond, Pems and Butetown Reservoir only.
  8. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult and may only use one rod.
  9. No night fishing except for Syndicate members and only on Butetown, Pems and Feeder Pond.
  10. Unhooking mats and landing nets of adequate size to be used on all venues.
  11. No keepnets unless fishing an official club match. No carp sacks and fish to be out of the water for the minimal amount of time.
  12. No rods to be left unattended
  13. No boats other than bait boats are allowed on any club waters.
  14. Fishing on River Wye at Boughrood only on Wednesdays and Sundays between 1st October and 3rdMarch each year.
  15. Target pike from October to March for safe fish return.
  16. Threating or abusive behaviour towards club officials or members of the public will not be tolerated and will result in a ban, duration of which will be determined by the committee.
  17. Any member that wilfully and knowingly break these rules or does any illegal fishing or wilfully damages banks, fences or any other property belonging to the society or owners of the water will be held responsible for same and will be dealt with by Officers and Committee of the society.
